The Center for Church Leadership has launched these resources to help churches achieve a 3% annual increase in financial giving over the course of five years. The Center has partnered with generosity experts to provide resources and coaching.
Ministry Job Board
The Ministry Job Board provides a centralized system for churches to advertise ministry opportunities and for individuals to discretely post resumes, sermon and worship videos. It gives churches and individuals the ability to anonymously search the full database and filter by a range of profile criteria.
Most ministers have no mentor or coach to help them navigate through different challenges. The SafetyNet supports ministers through a Network of 50 Advocates who stand ready to talk in a moment of significant struggle, conflict, or crisis.
We are committed to maintaining the most accurate and comprehensive directory of Independent Christian Churches & Churches of Christ for the purpose of establishing identity, gathering data, and strategic networking.
Ministerial attrition is a public, pervasive, and damaging outcome for churches, but it is only a symptom of the deeper problem. Many churches are failing to meet their potential because of systemic leadership challenges.
One of the most significant threats to the ongoing health and vitality of local congregations is a lack of consistent and systematic leadership development. The capacity to positively impact the neighborhood for Christ is directly related to the church’s leadership ceiling so it is critical to provide ongoing training opportunities that define and reinforce a strong leadership culture– and they need to span the organization to apply the culture to the unique context of the Elders, Ministry staff, and volunteers.
It can be challenging, though, to find development plans that are appropriate for specific leadership contexts and even more difficult to cobble together individual resources that represent a coherent curriculum. The Center has responded to this challenge by developing five leadership coaching plans: Deacon/Member as Leader, Elder as Leader, Jesus as Leader, Minister as Leader, and Navigation. Each package provides everything you need to lead your team through a Biblical and practical discussion of leadership principles and how they can be applied in their unique role.
Deacon/Member as Leader
The Deacon/Member as Leader Coaching Plan will help your Servant Leaders embrace a healthy and effective perspective of leadership, as it reflects the Biblical teaching about the role of Servant Leader and specifically the function of Deacon. It will provide practical information and strategies that will transform the way your team members think about and execute their leadership role.
Elder as Leader
The Elder as Leader Coaching Plan will create alignment, buy-in, and momentum toward a Biblical understanding of how Elders should live and function–as individuals and as a plurality of leaders–to effectively lead a 21st century church. It will enhance their values, knowledge, and skills as they strive to apply their unique gifts to their role as overseer.
Jesus as Leader
The Jesus as Leader Coaching Plan will transform the way you think about leadership and help you lead the church more effectively. It highlights key principles that emerge from Jesus’ life and ministry that empower every Christian to model Christ-like leadership.
Minister as Leader
The Minister as Leader Coaching Plan will revolutionize the way you manage your team of ministry staff members and/or volunteer leaders. It will give you practical information and tips that will give you confidence to tackle even the most difficult leadership challenges.
Navigation is a 4-phase strategic planning process. It provides a step-by-step plan to help the church Discover its identity and neighbors, Dream about its impact and strategies, Design strategies and plans, and successfully Deploy its energy and resources to achieve its vision.

FREE Summit Registration
Your Advancing or Equipping Church subscription gives you free registration towards the annual Center for Church Leadership Summit. This includes registration for anyone from your church, and gives everyone access to the resources provided on that day.
We have developed a library of Toolboxes specially designed to help ministers navigate the most commonly faced leadership challenges in the church. World-class experts have contributed tips, tools, and resources to provide step-by-step guides to help you overcome leadership hurdles.
Ministerial Emergency Fund
The Center for Church Leadership has partnered with Kairos Legacy Partners and the Pension Fund of the Christian Church to create funds that help address unexpected life crises. In addition, each October-Pastor’s Appreciation Month- the Network Churches will have an opportunity to contribute to the Ministerial Emergency Fund. The process for evaluating financial requests is confidential, prompt, and managed by a respected team of leaders. $100 of the first year’s Advancing or Equipping Church subscription will go towards funding the Ministerial Emergency Fund.
The Center for Church Leadership has partnered with the Pension Fund of the Christian Church to encourage churches to create and fund a retirement plan. A wide range of tools and resources are available through the Pension Fund that can help individuals plan for retirement and churches apply a healthy long-term perspective as they seek to provide and care for their minister. $500 of the first year’s Advancing or Equipping Church subscription will go towards creating a Pension Fund for the minister of the church.
The Center’s Roundtable provides a venue for ministers to experience support, encouragement, and care. It is a safe place where they can be transparent about stress, fear, exhaustion, frustration, and anger. They Roundtable also provides a relaxed environment to share ideas, tackle challenges, and build each other up.
The Center for Church Leadership has created a network of Coaching Churches that have agreed to open their doors to Advancing Church ministers and their teams to provide ideas, tips, strategies, and encouragement. These churches have experienced success in one or more areas of ministry and share our value of investing in other congregations and their leaders.
Lifeway Christian Counseling Consultation
We place high value in the physical and emotional well-being of ministry leaders, as we know it can have a direct affect on ministry health. We have partnered with Lifeway Christian Counseling to provide consultation services to Advancing Church ministers.
McPherson Legal Consultation
The Center for Church Leadership has partnered with McPherson Legal, LLC to provide services to Advancing Church leadership. This includes consultation, a Church Law Assessment, and for a reduced fee, a Church Legal Risk Analysis. The Analysis provides a guided review of the church’s key documents.
